Bee's Knees Bakery to Reopen Soon in New Retail Location

Lovers of gooey bars and red velvet cupcakes will soon be able to purchase these and other goodies at the new Oconee County retail location of Bee's Knees Bakery.

The bakery moved out of suite 108 at 1880 Epps Bridge Parkway in June but has continued to take and process orders.

Owner Linda Chambers said within a few weeks of trying an order-only approach, she missed the storefront and began to seek a new location. And she didn't have to look far.

She settled on the space between Keba Spitfire Grill and Outlaws Famous Texas Boots in The Markets at Epps Bridge. The suite is a little smaller, she said, but more accommodating to the bakery's needs. She hopes to open by Aug. 9.

"That's our goal," Chambers said. "We just need for people to know that, hey, we're here. I don't want to lose my customer base."

The same baked goods will be offered, she explained, so those who've been craving a Tall, Dark and Yummy --chocolate cake filled with and covered in ganache-- can get their fill.

The bakery is, however, streamlining its products and will no longer sell gifts not directly associated with baked goods.

Chambers said she's planning to offer specials during a grand opening celebration, but the date hasn't yet been finalized. Keep an eye on Facebook and the business' website for more details. Meantime, customers can continue calling or texting orders to (706) 353-3633 or emailing them to beeskneesbakeryandgifts@gmail.com.

Another business, The Carpenter's Shop, is in the process of moving in to the former location of Bee's Knees Bakery.  A sign in the window says the store will offer Christian books, Bibles, personalized gifts and more.
