Athens-Oconee Audiology Ribbon Cutting

The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for one of its newest members on July 26.

The welcomed one of its newest members -- Athens-Oconee Audiology -- with a ribbon cutting ceremony on July 26.

has been offering prevention, assessment and treatment of hearing disorders for patients of all ages for five years, owner and audiologist Robin Hardin, M.A., said. 

She opened the practice in Oconee after having commuted to Atlanta for over a decade. The office not only serves the local community but patients come from around Georgia and neighboring states for treatment, Hardin said.

Some of the services include complete audiological evaluations; tinnitus counseling; and hyperacusis evaluation, counseling and device fitting in a facility that boasts state-of-the-art testing tools.

"If you don't hear well, it's difficult to communicate," said Hardin, who has more than 30 years of experience in audiology. "It impacts everything from relationships with family, friends, and colleagues."

The best part of her job, she said, is getting to know her patients.

"I love to visit with people, to interact with them and enhance their quality of life."

Scott Hardin, business and marketing manager, Rebecca Haze, audiologist aid, and receptionist Taylor Gaze round out the staff at Athens-Oconee Audiology.

The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to noon.  Call (706) 705-4781 to make an appointment.
