Rosie and Annie are the AAHS Adoptable Cats of the Week!

Rosie and Annie are two special girls who are looking for new forever homes--they have both been waiting for new homes for about 6 months, so they are eager to settle down!

Annie is a 10-month-old domestic short-haired female who has been with AAHS since December 14, 2011. She's an awesome cat with a ton of energy and would do best in a home with a playmate.  She's great with kids of all ages and would probably be just fine with dogs as well (she's only seen dogs through a glass door but never reacted poorly to them).

After being spayed through Atlanta Humane while she was with Athens-Clarke County Animal Control, Annie became very ill. This illness resulted in horrible corneal ulcers which took months to treat and included a third eyelid flap procedure which left her blind for awhile. And then to top it all off, Annie had to undergo surgery for the third time in her young life in order to have an umbilical hernia repaired which had not been repaired when she was spayed. Annie has healed from her ordeal but does have some permanent scarring on her eyes. Annie was a trooper the whole time through her surgeries and has not been marred by the experience.

Rosie is a 2-year-old domestic short-haired female who has been with AAHS since January 24, 2012. Rosie was overlooked at the Athens-Clarke County Animal Control because she was a little shy in her cage. Once she came over to AAHS we wanted to help her along with her socialization, so after a quarantine period, we decided to buddy her up with Annie, who is very social, loves other kitties, and really needed a playmate. While it wasn't love at first sight, Rosie and Annie have since become fast friends and are absolutely inseperable. Rosie may take a little time to adjust to her new home, but with a buddy at her side, she will do just fine.
