Cinco de Meow

The Athens Area Humane Society is having a fiesta to celebrate Cinco de Mayo... or as it's known around here, Cinco de Meow!

On May 5, 1862, a Mexican army of 4,000 soldiers defeated Napoleon III's previously undefeated French army of 8,000 soldiers in the Battle of Puebla. This was a major turning point in the American Civil War, as Napoleon's army had been supplying the Confederacy with resources. Cinco de Mayo is about overcoming overwhelming odds to be victorious and having a positive effect on the rest of the world.

The cats at AAHS want to overcome their own odds as homeless animals and become victorious by being adopted during our Cinco de Meow adoption promotion from April 29 through May 5. Stop by the Adoption Center or our Zeus House Shelter to meet our adoptable cats... It may not affect the whole world, but if you adopt a cat through AAHS, it will certainly make a lasting, loving effect on your new kitty and your whole family!
