A glimpse at the weather 

A 30-40 percent chance of thunderstorms in the early part of the week will give way to a 20 percent chance of rain as the weekend approaches.  The Weather Channel predicts high temperatures will climb into the upper 80s to low 90s each day.  See more.

Oconee County Schools to hold meeting

At 11 a.m. today, Monday, July 22, Shannon Hammond, OCS director of federal programs Shannon Hammond will present the district's local educational agency implementation plan for 2013-2014, the Oconee Enterprise reports.  The meeting takes place at the Board of Education office (34 School Street), according to the newspaper.

Marching band camps begin!

Last week, members of the OCHS Warrior Marching Band rookies reported to band camp along with the colorguard and percussion sections.  This week, they'll be joined by the full band. 

The North Oconee High School Titan Regiment also hits the practice field this week for full band rehearsals.

Camp concludes Friday night with a covered dish dinner and student talent show starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Oconee County Civic Center.
