Whiz Kid : Lauren Strawn

Lauren is the winner of the 104.7 The Fish contest for Opening Act at Celebrate Freedom held on Sept. 3 in Atlanta.

Name: Lauren Strawn

Age: 18Β 

School: Homeschooled for her senior year of high school. (Previously attended )

Accomplishment: Lauren learned to play the piano by ear. She is entirely self taught. During this process, she discovered that she can hear music and convert the sound to written chords or play it back by memory. This gift has launched Lauren's career.

She is the winner of the 104.7 The Fish contest for Opening Act at Celebrate Freedom Atlanta held on Saturday Sept. 3, scoring a $10,000 prize, $10,000 for her church and $1,000 worth of merchandise from Ken Stanton Music.

Key to Awesomeness: Lauren credits her gift to her faith. She is a member of the in Watkinsville.

Lauren also values the incredible mentors who have taught her not only by example, but also through their gift of time. She explains that their influence has "made her life something beautiful" and extends thanks to her parents, her honorary mother Dorcas Hammond, her extended family and her incredible friends!
