A True 'Renaissance Man'

Have you ever met a chef and blueberry farm manager who is also a dance instructor and a project coordinator for a decking contractor?

Bogart resident Ron Putman, a graduate of the University of Alabama, is a true "Renaissance man."  Not only is he a dance instructor and an award-winning competitive dancer, but Ron has owned his own restaurants and is a certified public accountant.  He also manages and is a project coordinator for Tailor Decks.  Somehow he finds time to train Labrador Retrievers.  Are you tired just reading about it all?

Here's what the "Dancing with the Athens Stars" instructor had to say about his life:

How did you become a dance "pro"?

Ron: My wife forced me to take dance lessons and it didn't take, so I had to repeat the class.  Five years later I was competing in ProAM events with my instructor.  Fourteen years later I am the instructor with students dancing with me in ProAM competitions.

How do you juggle these professions and hobbies all at once?

Ron: There is some history behind each one of my part-time jobs, but [there is] one thing in common.  I only have to deal with people  A. In my dance class B. At one of my cooking events C.  Picking blueberries at the farm D. Want a new deck or screened porch.  That means that everyone is in a pretty good frame of mind when I see them and I don't hear a lot of whining and complaining.

How it is possible to do so many things and do them well?

Ron: All the work I do is very physical and keeps me in shape.
