Did You Know THIS About Your Neighbor?

Tiffany White has been my best friend since we met at a "Tikes and Tots Music Time" class when our boys were 18-months-old.

Her husband, Michael, has graciously allowed me to drag his wife and children off to Calloway Gardens, St. George Island and to the mountains. As we pass in the driveway picking up and dropping off kids from sleep over parties, sporting events and co-parenting emergencies, I've gotten to know Michael.  However, there are some things that make him more interesting than you would guess at first glance.

TOP 10 THINGS YOU MAY NOT ALREADY KNOW ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBOR, MICHAEL WHITE.

1) Before opening the located in Athens' 5 Points neighborhood, Michael owned the Wine and Spirit Warehouse on Atlanta Highway.

2) Michael started his love of the restaurant world in Athens with the Basil Press in 1999.

3) Certainly Michael loves food, but in his free time he plays soccer.

4) Outside of the restaurant, Michael is also a sommelier.  

5) Michael would like to retire in Europe.

6) Before moving to Watkinsville, Michael lived in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

7) Michael has climbed Mount Raneir.

8) Michael knows how to make cheese, brew beer and bake bread. (His wife can't cook!) 

9) He was in a rock band as a young man.

10) Michael is married to his high school sweetheart.
