Mentor training, Girl Scout recruitment, and a spaghetti dinner fundraiser are a few of the things to know about today.

Weather:  Scattered showers are possible this morning, according to the Weather Channel, followed by partly cloudy skies.  Highs will be in the mid 70s.

Top things to know:

  • Are you interested in becoming a mentor to a student at Oconee County Schools?  The Oconee Area Resource Council is holding a mentor training session at 5:30 p.m. Call 706-769-4974 to register.
  • Parents and girls interested in learning more about the Girl Scouts are invited to an informational meeting from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Watkinsville First United Methodist Church
  • The Young Female Farmers are hosting a spaghetti dinner and raffle at The Big Easy to benefit The Bully Project. Stop by from 6-7:30 p.m. Dinner is $5 a plate.
  • The Oconee County GOP meets at 6:30 p.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center every third Thursday of the month.
  • The Oconee County Democratic Commitee holds its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Oconee County Government Annex. 
  • The NOHS Drama Club brings "Soldiers Young and Brave" to the stage.  The curtain opens at 7 p.m on Thursday and Friday in the school's auditorium.
