Oconee Today -- Oct. 11

Fall break, a free health fair for seniors and a bluegrass and BBQ are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: More sunshine is in today's National Weather Service forecast.  Highs will be in the low to mid 70s.

Top things to know:

  • Patch will be streaming tonight's vice presidential debate live, and we want you to join in the online discussion. Check back later today!
  • Fall break has arrived for Oconee County Schools students. Teachers have a work/conference day but will be off tomorrow.  Classes resume Monday.
  • Athens Senior Resouces Network is sponsoring a free CARE health fair for seniors at Holiday Inn in downtown Athens from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m..
  • All are invited to the NuCraft Annual BBQ & Open House from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. During the event, injured marines, Michael Boucher and Tony Mullis will be presented with Tank wheelchairs.
