Oconee Today -- Nov. 8

A cancer prevention study, an open house, and a variety show are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: As the work week winds down, temperatures rise slightly.  Today's highs are expected to be in the mid 60s, according to the Weather Channel, and skies will be mainly sunny.

Top things to know:

  • Prince Avenue Christian School hosts an open house for prospective families from 9-11 a.m.
  • Oconee County men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer are needed to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Prevention Study-3. Enrollment continues today at Athens Regional Medical Center.Learn more.
  • Children in grades k-5 are invited to Read to Rover at the Oconee County Library. Register ahead for a 15-minute session between 3 and 4 p.m.
  • The Oconee County High School's variety show takes place from 6-10 p.m. at the Civic Center.
