Have you thanked a teacher lately? It's Teacher Appreciation Week.

Weather: Sunny skies return.  The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s. Wind gusts could reach up to 15mph.

Top things to know:

  • The Oconee County Board of Education acknowledged Teacher Appreciation Week at their meeting this week. "[Teachers] really are the reason why our school system has the honors and accolades that it does because they are the ones in the classroom doing all the hard work," said Chairman David Weeks.   • The high school boys' three-day state track meet begins today in Jefferson.  Athletes from North Oconee and Oconee County High will be competing.
