Happy May!

1. May starts out with a dose of sunshine. According to today's forecast, high temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s with calm winds.

2. Today is the final day of the .  Take a relaxing Sunday with the family to visit these historic sites. And if you see visitors along the pilgrimage here in Watkinsville, be sure to welcome them to the area!  

3. An estimated 74.5 million people in the United States have high blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  The month of May is designated High Blood Pressure Education Month, and the CDC recommends having your blood pressure checked regularly. 4. The last of a 3-game baseball series between the University of Georgia and the University of Arkansas gets underway at Foley Field at 2 p.m.  The Dawgs came back from a 10-4 loss on Friday to shutout the Razorbacks on Saturday, 3-0. 

5. Zoo Atlanta offers a way to take your family to visit the animals at no cost by using the Zoo Atlanta Family Pass.  Visit Oconee County Library and check out the corresponding DVD.  Once returned, the receipt may be surrendered within 7 days at Zoo Atlanta for 2 complimentary adult tickets and 2 children's tickets. You must have a valid library card to participate, and the pass may be redeemed by the cardholder only once per year.
