Registration for a Teen Pride Class, artwork displays at the library, and sports are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather: Early morning showers could bring between a tenth and quarter of an inch on new rainfall. Gusts of wind could reach up to 15 mph. The National Weather Service predicts high temperatures will be in the mid 60s.

Top things to know:

  • Register today to attend the Teen Pride Class-- a course designed to help parents learn how best to prepare their soon-to-be teen drivers--  on Saturday, March 10 from 10 a.m. until noon in Oconee County. Registration forms are available by contacting Ed Carson via email or call or 706-769-2988.
  • The is seeking local artists to display their work in the library’s auditorium. Exhibits will be on a monthly basis. Artwork must be framed or otherwise ready for hanging. For more information, please

  • Oconee County High School boys' and girls' varsity soccer teams travel to Franklin County for games starting at 5:30 p.m. North Oconee High's JV baseball team takes on Shiloh in a 5:55 p.m. game.
  • The University of Georgia men's tennis team plays host to Mississippi State in the Dan Magill Tennis Complex at 2:30 p.m.
