Oconee Today -- March 6

Look at some current job openings in the Oconee area and find out what else you should know about Oconee today.

1. Rain showers are likely to continue through the early afternoon and then change over to partly sunny skies later in the day, the National Weather Service predicts.   High temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s.

2. One full-time position for a landscape laborer and another for an auto mechanic and collision expert are available in Oconee County, according to a current jobs listing on the Georgia Department of Labor's website.  There are also 40 area full-time openings in farms, fishing, and forestry occupations.

3.  The holds an auction in downtown Statham at 1 p.m. this afternoon.  Check out the company's website for photos and lists of items that will be included.

4. Join for food and fellowship at a special dinner from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.  The dinner will be followed by a public sermon, and all are welcome.

5. Make plans now to bring your cats and dogs to Oconee County Animal Control Department's rabies clinic next week. It will take place on March 12 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the fire department located on the Oconee Connector.
