The school board is poised to approve the hire of Dr. Jason Branch. Meet the new superintendent at the Oconee County Civic Center this evening.

Weather: Plenty of sunshine is in the forecast.  The Weather Channel predicts high temperatures in the mid 80s.   Overnight lows are expected to be in the low 60s.

Top things to know:

  • Toddlers and their caregivers are invited to at 10:30 a.m. at the Oconee County Library. The program includes a mix of dance, stretching, and jumping.
  • inside Georgia Square Mall hosts a Storytime every Monday at 10:30 a.m.  It's followed by a free craft session.
  • An American Red Cross Blood Drive takes place from 12 -5 p.m. at the UGA Law School.
  • Tax Day is quickly approaching (though it's April 17, not April 15 this year). Members of the AARP will be at the Oconee County Library from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. today to offer to those in need of help with preparation of tax forms.
