Weather: It'll be a warm one!  High temperatures are expected to reach into the low to mid 80s today. The Weather Channel predicts partly cloudy skies and light winds.

  • Several streets in downtown Athens will be closed over the next two days as film crews shoot scenes for the movie “Trouble With the Curve,” starring Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake.  .
  • Anime and Manga fans are invited to a meeting of the at 6 p.m. at the Oconee County Library. Teens ages 11-18 are welcome.
  • Watkinsville City Council will again consider a Business License Ordinance update at its monthly meeting. Also on the agenda (attached as a pdf) is a public hearing and first reading of a Tattoo and Body Piercing Ordinance .  The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Community Center.
