Oconee Today -- Mar. 3

March is Red Cross Month. Find out more about this and several Oconee area happenings.

1. There will be partly cloudy skies today with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, according to forecasts.  Looking ahead, there is a chance for light rain on Friday.

2. Today is a busy day at the .  There will be free blood pressure checks starting at 10:30 a.m. followed by bingo.   A computer class will begin at 12:30 p.m.

3. March is Red Cross Month, as proclaimed by President Obama. If you are interested in local volunteer opportunites, check out the East Georgia Chapter. Later this month, (Mar. 16) and (Mar. 23) will host blood drives.

4. A soccer game and several tennis matches are on the today. Go cheer on your favorite team!

5. Lovers of the outdoors may enjoy the monthly meeting of the Oconee Rivers Audubon Society. Discussions center on wildlife and people of all ages are welcome to attend the free meeting at Sandy Creek Nature Center from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
