Oconee Today – July 4

Several Oconee County businesses chip in to help you celebrate Independence Day this year.

Weather:  Weather.com is calling for sunny skies during the morning hours on the Fourth of July. Scattered showers or afternoon thunderstorms may develop in the later hours with a slight percent chance of rain. The high today should be near 93 degrees with a UV-Index in the extreme range at 11.

Top things to know:

  • The located at Butler’s Crossing is honoring all military personnel on this Fourth of July holiday. Those with a military ID can stop in at the shop and receive a free donut today through July 7.
  • Your Pie in Watkinsville is hosting the “Fourth of July Pie Raid.” Stop in at the Your Pie Watkinsville location all day and pick-up a $4 pizza. This offer is for those wishing to dine in or carry out.
  • The is scheduled today at Oconee Veterans Park. Grab the family and head to the park, the fun begins at 6:30 p.m. with activities for everyone, live music and concessions for purchase. There will be a parade at 7:45 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.
