The American Red Cross is urging blood donors to give to help stabilize the blood supply.

Weather: Plenty of sunshine is in the Weather Channel's forecast for today with highs in the low 90s.  Partly cloudy skies are expected overnight with lows in the low to mid 70s.

Top things to know:

  • There's an immediate emergent need for blood donors, according to the American Red Cross.  If you are willing and able to donate today, you can stop by the Athens Blood Donation Center in the Clark Crossing Shopping Center from noon - 7 p.m.
  • Holy Yoga Level 1-2 is offered at at from 9 - 10 a.m. The fee is $5 per month and participants are asked to bring a small toy donation to each class.
  • Senior citizens are invited to an exercise class at 10:30 a.m. following by a free line dancing class at 11 a.m. at the .
  • The Ellis Pain Center school supply drive continues through Aug. 6.  For a list of needed items and drop off locations,
  • The will be screening "500 Days of Summer" at 6 p.m. for teens.  Popcorn and snacks will be provided.
