Weather: Slightly cooler temperatures are in the Weather Channel forecast for Wednesday.  Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. There's a 60 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon.

Top things to know:

  • Registration for fall programs offered through the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department is open. .
  • The Oconee County Library hosts the puppet show "And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon" at 10:30 a.m. The event is free and open to children of all ages.
  • Watkinsville City Council meets at 7 p.m. in the Community Center.  According to the agenda, council will hear a proposal for a Watkinsville Cemetery monument.  The complete draft of the agenda is attached as a pdf.
