Weather: Partly sunny skies and a 40 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms is in the forecast for Tuesday. We'll see a high of 94 and wind gusts of up to 15 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Top things to know:

  • During today's meeting of the Oconee Rotary Club, president James Deaton will present "2012-2013 Goals and Plans for the Year."  The meeting starts at 7 a.m. in the Watkinsville Community Center and includes a continental breakfast. Guests are welcome to attend at a cost of $5 per person.
  • The Oconee County Board of Commissioners holds a regular meeting at 7 p.m. at the courthouse. Commissioners will consider appointments to the Cultural Affairs and Tourism Committee, Land Use and Transportation Committee, Library Advisory Board, Planning Commission, Recreational Affairs Committee and Board of Tax Assessors.  The complete draft of tonight's agenda is attached as a pdf.
  • Hear from the two candidates for the office of Tax Commissioner and the House District 117 race at a Candidate Forum starting at 7 p.m.  It takes place in the Community Center at .  The second hour will be devoted to the TSPLOST. .
  • The Sunflower Music Series continues at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia with the Romper Stompers starting at 7 p.m. .
