The annual Chamber of Commerce banquet, a workshop for parents and teen drivers and a ballet are a few of the things to know in and around Oconee today.

Weather: There's a 60 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. Wind gusts up to 20 mph are possible, according to the National Weather Service.  Look for a high temperature around 62 degrees.

Top things to know:

  • Oconee County Chamber of Commerce members interested in attending the annual meeting and banquet on Jan. 26 should RSVP by Jan. 20.  Tickets are $50 each or $380 for a table of 8. Contact the Chamber for more.
  • will host a free workshop for parents and their teens from 6-8 p.m. Register online at www.georgiaopenroad.com or by calling 770-725-2511.
  • If you love ballet, you won't want to miss "Romeo and Juliet" performed by the  Tchaikovsky Ballet Theatre at the UGA Performing Arts Center. The curtain opens at 8 p.m. and general admission ranges in price from $45-$55 or $5 for UGA students.
