Weather: Temperatures Thursday are expected to reach up to 90 degrees. The Weather Channel predicts a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Otherwise, expect a mix of clouds and sun.

Top things to know:

  • There's an immediate emergent need for blood donors, according to the American Red Cross.  If you are willing and able to donate today, you can stop by the Athens Blood Donation Center in the Clark Crossing Shopping Center from noon - 7 p.m.
  • The Georgia Museum of Art hosts Gallery Games for kids ages 7-11 to learn more about the artwork housed at the museum.  The program, from 4:15 -5 p.m., is free.
  • Oconee County Schools is accepting nominations for the Hall of Fame.  For more information about how to obtain a nomination form and key dates, please .
  • If you have any gently used books, audio CDs, DVDs and music that you'd like to donate to the Oconee County Library, now is the time.  .
