Easter activities, high school sports, and a poetry reading are a few of the things to know about in and around Oconee today.

Weather:  The National Weather Service calls for another chance of isolated afternoon thunderstorms.  Otherwise, expect sunny skies and highs in the mid 80s.

Top things to know:

  • Today is the last chance to register to eat breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Memorial Park in Athens on Saturday. Registration is limited. .
  • holds an Easter egg hunt starting at 6:30 p.m.  The event is free.
  • The OCHS Warrior varisty baseball team takes on Monroe at home at Arrowhead Park.  NOHS travels to Jackson Co.  Both games are slated to begin at 5:55 p.m.
  • It's Spirit Night for Rocky Branch Elementary School at Zaxby's.  A percentage of sales will be donated to the school.
  • Cine hosts acclaimed poet, novelist, and essayist Albert Goldbarth for a reading beginning at 7 p.m. Read more details.
