The 2011 Relay For Life of Oconee County has arrived! Find out what else there is to know about in and around Oconee today.

1. The work week ends with sunshine, wind and highs in the upper 70s. Wind gusts could reach up to 20 mph. Looking ahead at the weekend forecast, sunny skies are expected for both Saturday and Sunday.

2. Oconee County seniors gather this morning at the to celebrate April birthdays.  There will also be bingo.

2. Twilight Grid Qualifiers get underway at 10 a.m. at 200 College Avenue in Athens and will last throughout the day. The finishing order of the 3K Grid Qualifiers will create the start positions for the men's pro-am criterium Saturday night, according to an .

4. The University of Georgia Diamond Dogs host Arkansas in the first of a 3-game series at 6:30 p.m. at Foley Field. Tickets are $5, $8 for a reserved seat, and free for UGA students.

5. Over 575 participants and 45 teams have signed up to partake in the 2011 .  The event raises awareness and money for the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.  The fundraiser gets underway at 5 p.m. at , and "is a great event to bring the family where there will be live music, great food and entertainment for those of all ages,"Co-chair Rusty Haygood said.  The event will continue overnight through 6 a.m. on Saturday.
