Oconee County Remembers: Memorial Day 2013
Residents gathered Monday at the Oconee Veterans Park Memorial for a ceremony to honor those who've paid the ultimate price for our country's freedom.
Wreaths were placed at the base of the Oconee Veterans Park Memorial Monday where a crowd gathered to honor the brave men and women who've given their lives in military service.
Guest speaker and former Marine Vince Dooley offered a brief history of Memorial Day and thanked families of fallen military personnel for their sacrifices.
The following names were read aloud during The Last Roll Call, led by retired Army Sergeant Major Mark Saxon, before the ceremony concluded with taps.
