Kajal Patel Memorialized in Artwork

Everyone had a part in the making of two pieces of art during a celebration of the Athens Academy student's life and legacy on Sunday.

Atlanta artist Preston Shurley painted two works of art Sunday during Kajal Patel's remembrance celebration, but all who attended played a part in their creation.

Classmates, teachers and family members wrote special messages to Kajal as they entered the Spartan Center. Then, during the two-hour ceremony, Preston splashed the canvases with bright colors, finishing them with an image of Kajal and the words "Be a Hero for Kajal."
