Why Go: To find a treasure for a bargain among thousands of items and support the good works of the Junior League of Athens.

Pricing: $5 Friday; free Saturday

3. “HANDMADE FOR THE HUNGRY” BENEFIT

Where/When: Good Dirt Clay Studio & Gallery from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: To sample and vote on your favorite soup, buy handmade bowls, bid on silent auction pieces, see artist demonstrations and let your kids play in the clay.

Pricing: Free admission; $1 per vote: $20 per bowl purchase

4. CHICKEN BARBECUE SALE

Where/When: from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Why Go: To buy chicken barbecue plates to benefit Boy Scout Troop 149 and enjoy the beauty of the park on a spring day.

Pricing: $7 per plate

5. 3RD ANNUAL COTTAGE 5K RUN/WALK

Where/When: Sandy Creek Park at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Why Go: To run or walk through beautiful Sandy Creek Park to support the Cottage Sexual Assault Center and Children’s Advocacy Center.

Pricing: $20
