Where/When: Oconee Cultural Arts Center on Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Why Go: To view the paintings of Christy Green, an artist who employs a variety of media in her work, along with other art lovers.

3. AN EVENING WITH THE RANDALL BRAMBLETT BAND
Where/When: Melting Point in Athens on Friday at 8 p.m.
Why Go: To hear one of the area’s finest singer-songwriters accompanied by a band of exceptional musicians in one of the South’s finest music venues.

4. ATHENS HOME AND GARDEN SHOW
Where/When: Classic Center in Athens on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
Why Go: To learn about home building or renovation and start thinking about spring and summer gardening.

5. UGA EQUESTRIAN BULLDOG INVITATIONAL
Where/When: UGA Equestrian Center in Bishop on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.
