Did You Know THIS About Your Neighbor?

Who knew the owner of a medical transport business could be so interesting! Meet Lori Brooks, the woman behind Managed Medical Transport.

TOP TEN THINGS YOU MAY NOT ALREADY KNOW ABOUT YOUR NEIGHBOR, LORI BROOKS.

1) Before owning Managed Medical Transport, Lori pitched her idea to the corporate executives where she worked...they said it wouldn’t work, so she left and started the company herself. She is celebrating 14 years in business.

2) Lori once owned a business where she created and hand delivered customized themed gourmet gift baskets.

3) Lori thinks the most beautiful place in the world is Jackson Hole, Wyoming and hopes to live there one day.

4) Lori was 11-years-old when she led the fan club and decided that she was going to marry the lead singer of the teen heartthrob band, The Bay City Rollers. To her amazement, she soon discovered that she had a cousin in New York City who was the band’s agent. Back stage passes to their Atlanta concert, signed albums and photos soon arrived in the mail. (Note: Lori never married anyone in the band.)

5) In her free time, Lori loves to ride dirt bikes and 4-wheelers with her kids. She hasn’t yet mastered riding through deep mud puddles or sand….and has the scars to prove it.

6) While living in Atlanta in the late 1980s, Lori had fun on her nights off singing lead vocals with local country music bands in clubs around Atlanta.

7) Lori owns a home in Bishop, GA where she lives with her 3 children: Dillon 18, Erika 15 and Alec 10 along with their 3-year-old Labradoodle, Buddy.

8) Lori is probably best known for her over the top Halloween parties, and the many themed events that she has put on over the years as charitable fundraisers.

9) In her ambulance days in Atlanta, Lori would find homeless people downtown and hand them blankets. When they said they couldn’t look for a job because they were hungry, she’d have them meet her at the Krystal restaurant and buy them breakfast. At one point, the Fulton County 911 center received phone calls from homeless people at pay phones asking for her by name.

10) Lori’s two favorite lines to live by are:  Never forget, everyone has a back-story and Regardless of what you or others have or don’t have, remember that life has a way of balancing itself out.
