According to Executive Director Angela Helwig, “the members of the Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission certainly deserve this award.  They are passionate and dedicated individuals who believe in the KOCBC mission and do everything they can to fulfill it.  Oconee County is so lucky to have this great group of people!   They are full of enthusiasm, creativity and energy.  Working side by side with our community volunteers, they have no problem getting things done and getting their hands dirty, if necessary, unloading Christmas trees, planting, weeding, picking up litter along roadsides and riverbanks, and anything else that is required.”

Executive Director Angela Helwig and KOCBC member Rebecca Billings will accept the award during the special Awards Ceremony Dinner, at the Keep America Beautiful National Conference in Charlotte, NC on February 4, 2014.  This ceremony “will recognize and celebrate the work of affiliates, volunteers and partners for their commitment to delivering more beautiful and vibrant communities.”
