North Oconee High English Teacher Wins Statewide Teaching Grant

Inwright is one of only 40 teachers statewide to win the grant.

Julie Inwright, an English teacher at North Oconee High School, is one of 40 new teachers across the state to receive a $1,000 New Teacher Assistance Grant from Georgia Power. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Inwright will be able to purchase books and educational materials for her students with the money. She was recognized for her award at Monday night’s school board meeting. To be eligible for the grant, teachers had be in the top 25 percent of their class, be a first-year employee of a public Georgia school and show a high aptitude for teaching. Nominations come from schools of education.
