Holiday Movies Coming to a Theater Near You (Eventually!)

Most of these are opening soon at Georgia Theater Company's University 16.

The end of the year is the time when things calm down a bit, people have time to reflect and media companies flood the movie theaters with new films. This year is no different. Here are some big-budget movies coming our way:

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
More adventures for Bilbo Baggins, including encountering the fire-breathing, scaly dragon named Smaug.

Walking With the Dinosaurs
A family film that features computer animation. This tale has more dinosaurs than you can shake a fossil at, including one who becomes a hero.

47 Ronin
Flash back to 18th Century Japan, where 47 samurai set out to avenge their murdered master, eventually making a hero of Keanu Reeves in the process.

Saving Mr. Banks
Tom Hanks plays Walt Disney, who has to convince P.L. Travers, played by Emma Thompson, to let him make a movie of her book, Mary Poppins. Well, we know he succeeded, don't we?

The Lone Survivor
This is the gripping film version of a non-fiction book of the same name. It focuses on a failed mission in Afganistan by four U.S. Navy seals, who were ambushed near the Hindu kush.
