Got Any Ice Skates in your Closet?

Get your holiday spirit on at the Classic Center in Athens!

If you have ice skates on hand, or even if you don't, now's the time to bring them out and enjoy gliding around on the ice at the Classic Center. Not only will you be having fun, you'll have a chance to glimpse some of the trees that weren't auctioned off to help ESP, the Watkinsville-based organization that helped special needs children and their families.

Friday's kickoff event, at which decorated trees and handmade Christmas tree ornaments were auctioned, brought more than $10,600 to the non-profit. ESP officials say the money will fund ESP's 10 after-school enrichment programs and summer camp. The tree decorated by the UGA Football Coaching staff in honor of Mark and Katharyn Richt sold for a remarkable $1,300.

Helping special needs children, having fun on ice, shopping for a completely decorated tree (can you say "awesome?"), how wonderful is that?
