'Bring One For the Chipper' Christmas Tree Recycling
Harris Shoals Park, Experiment Station Rd & V F W Dr, Watkinsville, GA | Get Directions »
FREE
The “Bring One for the Chipper” program has been a holiday tradition in Georgia for 20 years and is the largest tree recycling program in the nation.
Bring your live Christmas Tree to Harris Shoals Park and "Keep Oconee County Beautiful" volunteers will be there to assist you in unloading your tree on January 7th! In exchange for your tree you will receive one free Red Maple, White Oak or Dogwood seedling to plant.
Seedlings are compliments of the Oconee Lions Club.
Keep Oconee County Beautiful Commission encourages Oconee County residents to resolve to recycle more in 2012 and to start by letting us chip their used Christmas trees into mulch. Free mulch for Oconee County residents will be available at the Park on January 11, 2012.
Keep Oconee County Beautiful Volunteers will be at Harris Shoals Park ONLY on Saturday, January 7th between 9 am and 4 pm.
Beginning December 26th, trees can be left, during regular operating hours, at any of the five Oconee County Recycling Collection Sites or in the designated area at Harris Shoals Park on Jan.7 – look for the signs. If you choose to leave your tree at the park on another day, there will be no personnel available to help you unload it.

Hi Beth,
This was last year's event, and this year's was actually held this past Saturday. It is my understanding that this is a one-day only event.
