Southern Style Restaurant Planned for Watkinsville

Watkinsville City Council approved four businesses licenses at its meeting last week.

The vacant building that formerly housed Floyd's Grill is to be the new home of a southern style restaurant. Watkinsville Council recently approved a business license request for Stellar Southern Café to set up shop in the 64 N. Main Street location. Co-owner Judy Johnston says the restaurant is still in the early stages of development. No critical violations were found by inspectors during recent inspections. View scores, violations, and corrective actions.

Here is a list of Oconee County establishments that have undergone routine health inspections in March.  All information was obtained from the Northeast Georgia Health District's health scores website. Each kitchen is given a score, and any violations are listed on-line.  The restaurant or cafeteria is categorized as low risk if there are no critical violations and a score of 90 or more is achieved.  For a food establishment to be categorized as high risk, one or more critical violations must be found. Oconee Native Opening His Own Running Store in Athens

Dustin Shinholser hopes to open a Five Points Fleet Feet franchise by late June.

Dustin Shinholser finished high school in Oconee County and went to Truit McConnell College before transferring to Mars Hill College in the North Carolina mountains. After graduation, he headed to the Research Triangle Area and began working for Fleet Feet Sports. He wanted to return to the Athens area, but he knew Fleet Feet Sports was a good match for him--he had been running since he was a kid and he knew a lot about retail, running shoes, running equipment and how to run well. He stayed with Fleet Feet and even opened a store in Seattle. And now, Shinholser is realizing his dream: he's opening his own Fleet Feet Sports franchise in Athens.
