AAHS Current Wish List Needs

One of the great ways you can easily help the Athens Area Humane Society year-round is to donate from our online Wish List!

We’ve listed some of the items that we’re most in need of this summer below, though any items from the list are welcomed and much appreciated. When we receive Wish List donations, it allows us to not only save money on our expenses, but it allows us to spend that money on other much-needed items to help the animals in our care.

  • Kitten Patte (Our biggest need right now!)
  • Bleach (Unscented)
  • Gallons of Distilled Water
  • Laundry Detergent (Unscented)
  • Dryer Sheets (Unscented)
  • 2 Large Rolling Coolers
  • 2 Medium-sized Rolling Suitcases
  • Orange Safety Cones (6-8)
  • Dog Leashes
  • Crates
  • Dog and Cat Toys
  • Dog Treats
  • Pet Shampoo

If you do your shopping at Publix Supermarket, you can keep an eye out for the Penny Item available every Wednesday. Each week, one item is featured at the front of the store and only costs one cent when you spend $10 or more on other items. Talk about a steal! Recently, one of the items was bleach, which also happens to be a very important ongoing need for AAHS. (Please note that some Publix locations require you to bring in their Penny Item coupon in the Sunday paper.)

Just out of curiosity, do you have any animals there that AREN'T dogs or cats? Any needs associated with those animals?

Great question! Yes, we adopt small animals as well, like rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs, etc. Right now, we have one rabbit that we can use timothy hay, alfalfa hay, Kay-Tee Soft-Sorbent litter (or similar product), and rabbit toys. You can also visit our full online Wish List to see other small animal needs.

Thank you for helping the small animals at AAHS!
