Work Begins on Prince Avenue Christian's New Field House

The private school in Oconee County, Ga. broke ground on the project Monday.

Construction has begun on a new 5,000-square-foot field house on the campus of Prince Avenue Christian School.

School officials held a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, according to an article in the Athens Banner-Herald, and they anticipate the building will be ready by the time the next school year rolls around.

Last month Zaxby's donated $125,000 to the school's campaign fund, a gift that Head of School Danny Howell said made the January groundbreaking possible.  The total cost of the field house is estimated at $600,000, the ABH reported.

When the field house is complete, it will clear up two classrooms in the main building, Howell said during the check presentation in December.  The school also has plans to build a new fine arts and athletics building.
