Why Go: To ride in or watch the second annual Tour d’Oconee bike race as hundreds of cyclists attempt to "Tame the Lion."
Pricing: $45 to participate, free to cheer on the cyclists
Where/When: Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to noon at City Park on Hillsboro Road
Why Go: To see which dog is the ugliest, the cutest, the slowest, the fastest, the best dressed, the most well-behaved and more as their owners show them off.

Rotary of Oconee's 28th Annual Chicken BBQ and Raffle
Where/When: Saturday, May 5 from 4-6 p.m. at Harris Shoals Park
Why Go: To enjoy a tasty plate of a half chicken, cole slaw, beans, chips, sauce while supporting Rotary of Oconee and the many service projects they work on during the year.
Pricing: $10 per plate
Where/When: 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 at Prince Avenue Christian School
Why Go: To enjoy a concert that showcases the hardwork of students at PACS and show them support.
