Shanook
Shanook is a 18-24-month-old Husky. He is a little nervous because he was not being properly socialized and was abused. Shanook is gorgeous and will bond quickly with an adult family. Shanook's in a foster home where he is doing well. He has also been cared for by the director. Due to his sensitivity to new surroundings it has been challenging to find his forever home. One of our volunteers has done a wonderful community service project and built a fabulous dog house. The purpose of this project is to help a dog who has an unlikely chance to be adopted, find his forever home. This dog house goes home with one dog from our shelter. It will be mentioned in their online profile if they are one of the selected dogs in the running for the dog house. All of our dogs are very sweet and have an equal chance of being adopted, it is just simply timing as to when they will be the one a potential family is looking for.
Grace is a female, brown and white Pitbull mix, approximately 5-8-months-old. She was found as a stray on Colham Ferry Road. Grace is very sweet and loving. Grace has also been here for awhile. You would not believe with her cute face and sweet personality that no one has even considered her for adoption.
Craig is a male, tri-colored Hound mix, approximately 8-10-months-old. He was owner-surrendered. He needed a lot of work and attention when he was brought to us. It took him all of ten minutes to figure out an easier way to walk on a leash. Craig is now laid back when walking on a leash and loves attention. He gets along well with other dogs. Come by and meet him today so he can show you his new tricks. ID # A14341262.

Oconee County Animal Control would like take this time during the holiday season to thank all of the wonderful people who found it in their hearts to save an animal in need this year and provide a "forever home."

There are a few dogs we would like to highlight. See their descriptions in the captions that accompany the photos.

Check out other animals currently available at the shelter at Petango.com.
