Three Arrested on Meth Charges in Oconee

Deputies reportedly found the drug during a traffic stop on US 441 at Lampkin Branch Road. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

A traffic stop Saturday afternoon netted three arrests for methamphetamine possession.

According to an incident report, Oconee County Sheriff's deputies pulled over a 2002 Pontiac on US 441 near Lampkin Branch Road just before 4 p.m. on Dec. 22. Prior to a search of the vehicle, a backseat passenger reportedly confessed to deputies "that there were illegal drugs in the vehicle but would not elaborate as to what the drug was, where it was located, or who it belonged to," the deputy wrote.

One of the deputies found a bag containing suspected methamphetamine, according to the report, but none of the individuals in the car claimed ownership so all were arrested.

Charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object were Jaimie D. Parker, 27, of Bishop; Sherri Nichole Laing, 27, of Watkinsville; and Talmadge Eugene Buffington, 21, of Watkinsville.
