Storage Shed on Meadowview Court Burglarized
The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville, Ga. police department.
On Sunday, Nov. 11, a Meadowview Court resident reported to Watkinsville Police that someone had knocked the back window out of his storage shed and stolen an assortment of tools.
According to a news release from Chief Lee O'Dillon, Dewalt electric drills, a toolbox filled with various tools, and a Plano tackle box were taken. The cost of the stolen property is about $1,000.
In the weekly news release, O'Dillon also noted the following incidents:
- Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 4:06 p.m., police were called to Highway 15 South concerning a two vehicle accident. A 2002 Nissan Sentra had been traveling southward on Greensboro Highway and was attempting to make a left turn onto Industrial Boulevard. A 2002 Chevrolet S-10 exited Industrial Boulevard and struck the driver's side of the Nissan. No one was injured. A 19-year-old male resident of Calls Creek Drive was charged with failure to yield to the right of way.
- Police observed a 2007 Honda Civic crossing over the double yellow center line and running onto the shoulder of Whitehall Road at 3:14 Saturday morning, Nov. 10. Officers stopped the car. Julia Marie Smith, 21, of Athens, was arrested and charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane.. Smith was booked into the Oconee County Jail and released after posting bond.
- Saturday, Nov. 10, at 11:05 a.m., police were called to Whitehall Road at Katie Lane after a 2001 Honda Civic was struck from behind by a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. A line of traffic had stopped due to a car at the front of the line attempting to make a left turn. Neither driver was injured. A 20-year-old Bishop man was charged with following too closely.
Watkinsville police responded to a total of 31 calls within city limits between Nov. 5-11, 2012.
