Each week we're giving away a Patch gear prize pack to one winner selected at random from the readers whose photos are featured Monday through Saturday. The winner will be announced Sunday. Photos uploaded to the Featured Photos articles or to one of our neighborhood galleries qualify.

About this column: The Patch gear giveaway is open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older. To enter, upload an original photo to the article or to a pics and clips gallery. You may enter as many times as you wish. One weekly winner will be selected in a random drawing from the posters of the six photos selected to be featured each week Monday-Saturday. The winner will be announced on Sunday. Yes, me too Stephanie. But in a chilling sort of was she was beautiful. She spent several weeks on her web & laid a LOT of eggs. It was amazing watching them hatch too.

David - I found one of these in my cactus patch. I thought it had spun some yarn or something into it's web, then I realized that that zigzag thing WAS part of the web. I had never seen a spider like that before.

Beth that's a great shot ! It looks like the same type of spider as mine. Kim, I don't know about yours. LOL ! I'm still trying to find your spider on that beach.

Honestly, I didn't know this group of pics was going to just be spiders when I posted the beach one. However, my spider looked just like yours in my cactus patch. :)
