Second Man Charged with Robbery in Starbucks' Tip Jar Theft

The 17 year old was booked into the jail on Thursday. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

A second man suspected of being involved in the snatching of a tip jar from Starbucks on Epps Bridge Parkway earlier this month was booked into the Oconee County Jail on Thursday.

Richard Charles Jones, 17, of Jennings Mill Parkway in Athens, is charged with robbery, according to records. Last week George Labron Houser, 20, of Club Drive in Athens, was booked on the same charge.

On Feb. 11, a manager of the coffee shop reported two men in a red Jeep Liberty snatched the tip jar from the drive-thru window. Authorities estimate $20-$50 was taken.

Investigators said witnesses provided information that led them to the two suspects.

Poor Richard, he must have thought it was just another entitlement. It IS getting hard to tell the difference.
