Oconee County deputies and Athens-Clarke County Police set up a perimeter in the area of Tanglebrook Drive near Epps Bridge Road and used a K-9 unit to search for a burglary suspect, described as a black male, 6-feet tall with an athletic build, wearing a dark jacket.

A resident reported walking in on a man burglarizing her home just before 10 a.m. Thursday, Chief Deputy Lee Weems said.

Shortly after noon, the Sheriff's Office announced a man was in custody on an active probation violation warrant.  He had not been charged with burglary and the case was still under investigation.

We'll update with more information as it becomes available.
