Like my folks said. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. This should not be a race about ego or money or connections, this should be a race about what is best for Oconee County. Well done Sheriff Berry, my family looks forward to continuing to trust in your sound judgement.

Trey Downs would have been the best one for the job. It's really a shame that people want to have a person like Scott Berry in office. Scott Berry ran a dirty campaign. What would have been best for Oconee would have been Trey Downs because he is a great honest men who would have represented Oconee every well.

Trey Downs ran a dirty campaign! And he published credit card numbers. He's unqualified to be sheriff and probably unqualified to be a sergeant in Snellville.

Personally I'm torn, on the one hand I'm glad the good people of Oconee saw Trey Downs for what he is and told him they did not like what what they saw clearly in their votes. On the other hand my "little" city of Snellville will continue to have to deal with him for the time being at least.

Trey Downs should be sheriff. Berry can't even catch a thief unless walmart gets them for him. My god people read the police reports.

It sounds like you have been living under a rock.............Sheriff Berry and his men catch criminals of every kind every day, read the newspaper, or The patch, or talk to the officers, or talk to the citizens. I agree with Lisa, if it aint broke, dont fix it. Sheriff Berry has proven himself numerous times for the last 20 years. Not only is he an awesome sheriff, he is an awesome man in every regard with a big heart but yet no tolerance for crime.........the best man won in my opinion and evidently those of the county he serves.

WalMart, like most big volumn stores, has its own security. That's why they catch shoplifters. It's a full-time job for two or three people, who aren't being paid by the Sheriff.

This is a fundemental way large retailers operate. Can't expect a deputy or three to be stationed there at all times, siphoning off taxpayers' money.

@ S.S...I think people have been reading...that's why over 6,000 people voted & decided to re-elect him. I don't thinks we're wrong the decisions made.
