Bimmers South Automotive Reports Theft of Catalytic Converter

It is the second such theft to occur at the business in as many months.

A theft occurred at Bimmers South Automotive located on Ashley Avenue sometime between 4:25 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. on Nov. 28.

Someone entered the property through a hole in a fence and took a catalytic converter, fifteen radiators/condensers and twelve aluminum intake manifolds, according to an Oconee County Sheriff's Office incident report.

The total loss is estimated at $2,200.  Two vehicles were also damaged in the process, and the cost to repair them is an additional $2,200.

A similar incident was reported at the end of October.

In that case, a chain link fence on the far end of the property was cut and a catalytic converter was removed from a BMW.
