Norcross Spa Shooting Leaves 5 Dead – Norcross Patch
Five people were killed in what Norcross Police believe may have been a domestic-related shooting at a Buford Highway spa Tuesday night.
Norcross Police said four people were found dead inside the Su Jung Health Sauna, located at 6005 Buford Highway. One victim died later at a local hospital.
According to police, the preliminary investigation indicates that a man entered the business, opened fire on the four victims, then turned the gun on himself. The names of the victims and the alleged shooter will not be released until notification of the next of kin.
The GBI is assisting in the investigation.
Grease Fire Displaces Barrow Family of Five -- Barrow Patch
A home fire displaced a Barrow family of five Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Communication officers with Barrow County Emergency Services received a 911 call at 3:14 p.m. Tuesday reporting a structure fire in the 30 block of Huckleberry Lane in Winder.
“Upon arrival firefighters found moderate smoke showing from the residence,” Battalion Chief Mike Stoops said in a news release. “Crews made entry and found fire in the kitchen area of the home. They made an aggressive attack on the fire and quickly brought the flames under control.”
Two adults and three children were displaced and the American Red Cross responded to assist the family.
The Fire Investigation Team responded and determined the cause of the fire to be a grease fire on the stove.
