Illegal Fireworks Cause Fire at Gwinnett Businesses – Suwanee Patch
Gwinnett County Fire Investigators say illegal fireworks caused damage to two businesses in Lawrenceville.
Crews were called to World Finance and Las Canas at a shopping plaza at 1956 Duluth Hwy at 4:35 am Thursday. When they got there, they found smoke and fire coming from the center of the roof. They were able to quickly extinguish the fire on the roof.
Investigators say the illegal bottle rocket fireworks landed on the roof of the building, igniting the fire. The fireworks were shot from the adjacent parking lot.

Gwinnett Police Release Video of Man High on Bath Salts -- Loganville Patch
Gwinnett County Police videotaped the erratic behavior of a Karl Laventure, an Alpharetta man who admitted to being high on on bath salts and marijuana.
He was tasered 14 times, had threatened to eat people and exhibited superhuman strength, according to police reports obtained by Patch.
The incident occured around 10 a.m. June 14 at Atlanta Golf Center, located off Beaver Ruin Road in unincorporated Norcross. Click here for the full story.

Cheering Fans Greet Florida Sen. Marco Rubio at Book Signing – Lawrenceville Patch
Marco Rubio’s tour promoting his new autobiography “An American Son: A Memoir,” made a stop at Discover Mills Mall the day after Independence Day.
Many waiting in line felt Rubio would be the best choice for Romney’s running mate. If picked, Rubio would be the first Latino to run on a Presidential ticket.
